What is Black Hat SEO?

Black Hat SEO refers to unethical and manipulative tactics used to improve a website’s search engine ranking. These tactics violate search engine guidelines and can result in penalties or even banning from search engine results pages (SERPs).

Example

An example of Black Hat SEO is keyword stuffing, where a website unnaturally loads keywords into its content in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings. For instance, a website might repeat the phrase “cheap airline tickets” excessively throughout its pages, even if it doesn’t provide relevant or valuable information to users. This tactic may temporarily boost the site’s ranking for that keyword, but it’s likely to be penalized by search engines once detected, leading to a decrease in ranking or removal from search results.
