Nonprofit Marketing Agency

Nonprofit marketing services for organizations reaching donors, members and the people they serve. Two audiences, one budget, and every campaign has to earn its place.

What is different about nonprofit marketing

Industry knowledge earns its place where it changes the plan. For a nonprofit it changes three things, and all of them come back to who the money belongs to.

The case for support is the product

A donor receives nothing in return except the knowledge that something happened, which makes the case for support the whole of what you are offering. It has to be specific: what the money does, who it reaches, what changes. Campaigns that borrow the language of a product launch tend to raise less than campaigns that simply show the work.

Spend is scrutinized, so efficiency is the brief

Every dollar spent on marketing is a dollar not spent on the mission, and someone will ask about it. That rules out expensive tests run on a hunch. It favors channels where the cost per response can be shown, and reporting a board can read without a translator.

The people who give and the people you serve are different audiences

One needs a reason to fund the work. The other needs to find the service and trust it. Running both from one message usually underserves both, so the programs get planned separately even when the budget is shared.

Nonprofit marketing agency questions

What we get asked on the first call.

Do you charge nonprofits differently?
The rate stays the same and the scope is what moves. Most nonprofit engagements we run are narrower than a commercial one: one channel, done properly, with reporting the board can read.
How should a nonprofit use email marketing?
Start with the list you already have. Donors, volunteers and members who opted in are the cheapest audience a nonprofit can reach, and a regular update showing what their money did keeps them giving. New names come from search and from a case for support that is easy to find and forward.
We have a small list and no ad budget. Is there anything to do?
Usually yes, and ads are rarely the first step. Search, email to the list you already have, and a case for support people can find and share all cost time before they cost media spend.
Can you show nonprofit results specifically?
Amitruck and GreaterSpace NYC are both clients, both on camera, and both have a written case study on the site.
Tell us what you are raising for
The case for support shapes everything downstream. One call is usually enough to see whether the gap is reach, the ask itself, or the reporting.
